Abbey Medieval Tournament

Hey all,

A few of you realised that I was oddly absent from social media this past weekend. The reason? I had stepped back in time! I put on my best medieval attire and headed to the Abbey Medieval Tournament in Caboolture.

It was a wonderful day full of jousting, food, dresses and mead. I am definitely going to go back next year!

Here are some of my favourite pictures.

My gown for the day!
Medieval lunch.
A good old sword fight.
Practising my run writing.

Tough knight.
Naww :)
Medieval fencing.
Getting ready for the joust.
A northern medieval family.

I had such a lovely day, and definitely recommend that everyone in the Brisbane region checks it out next year!

You can find more information on the Abbey Medieval Festival website

What did you get up to this weekend?

Hope you all have a great night! xx

  1. That looks like so much fun! I love your gown. We had a living history thing that was similar here once, but I didn't know about it and turned up as it was being packed away. :(

  6. Oh this is so cool! In the US we have something similar called the Renaissance Fair! And your dress is definitely reminiscent of the times.

  8. This looks like it was amazing. I've actually never spent much time at these, but have friends that use to go, I would make the costumes for many of them. You look great "stepping back in time!" :)

  9. Well there weren't any medieval fairs around here so I just went to a first birthday party instead he he. I went to the Abbey Medieval Fair many years ago when I lived in the area. I remember it being a lot of fun. The museum there is a pleasant surprise too. It's small, and tucked away, but has one of the best collections I've seen. I hope it's still there.
